It's also possible to decrease the recharge time enough via passive items to keep every enemy frozen indefinitely. When combined with the surprise attack item that hides your presence upon entering a floor, it gives you even more time to clear out nearby foes. Additionally, this Active Item works well with many of the passives that you can get. I've found Freeze to be best for looping, as it allows you time at the start of each floor to clear enemies and gain some breathing room. As for power-ups, there really only seem to be 4 that are actually useful: Invincibility, Shield, Freeze, and Double Fire-Rate. With a burst fire of 3 shots, good fire rate, and decent damage, it should be able to help you loop. Aside from that, I've found the Big Purple Blaster to be quite reliable. The only downside is that it seems to be a rare appearance in shops, as I've only encountered it once. It has a decent fire rate, infinite range, and the ability to pierce all enemies that it hits. The final gun in the log, which I believe is called the Dominator or Decimator, is really good.
